Avril Lavigne was born on the twenty first of September 1987 in Napanee, Ontario, in Canada. She has got a Canadian mother and a French father. When
she was a child, Avril was fond of music and singing . At six years old
she sang in a church choir where she was very appreciated. But at twelve
she started to write her first songs and her first music with guitar, a
very nice mix of country and pop music
Determined
to become a professional singer, she decided to prove her talent during
a festival of country music. She won and became very famous in her area
where she is called “The little Avril of Napanee”. In
1999, her determination finally paid : she was noticed by a producer. At
16, she arrived in New York city to meet L. REID, the managing director
of Art Records, a music company. After
some tests, he was impressed and offered her to sign a first contract.
An
album was recorded but Avril who hadn’t written the text of this CD
did not agree with her producer. She
abandoned this project and moved to Los Angeles. She met a new producer
: Cliff Magness. They decided to collaborate with Avril principles.

In
October 2002, the album “Let Go” (mix of
pop and rock music) was released and won a wonderful success in
all of the world, notably thanks to the very dynamic song: “Complicated”. The
success increased with the songs “Sk8er Boy” and “I’m
with you”. She
made concerts in the world notably in Paris .
People
like her energy and her very pop voice. She has got a particular look
which teenagers like very much. By the way her look attracked the singer
of the band Sum 41, Derick, who is now her boy friend .
Later,
in 2004, her second album “Under my skin” which is
clearly rock is released and wins many prizes.This album was her biggest
success . She made new series of concerts all around the world where she
is acclaimed. Now
she prepares her new album in Canada. |
