David Robert Joseph Beckham was born in London on May 2nd, 1975. His football career is an example for all other footballers. He started his sports career in Manchester United. On the 21st September 1994 he made his first appearance against Port Vale in the League Cup. This was followed two months later by his first goal for United against Galatasaray in the Champions League. He became a very good football player with his time and a main player of Manchester’s club and the English team. |
He won the Champions league with Manchester in 1999 and finished second world player of this year. The following season was controversial and he did not want to remember. With Manchester he won a lot of Charity Chield, a lot of league cups, and the champion’s title 5 times. He was sold to the greatest team all over the world, the Real Madrid, where he became one of the best players all over the world. |

the editor. To me, the best football player is a gunner : Thierry Henry. He can do what he wants with the ball. He is not a playboy like Beckham and he doesn't have the same media coverage as Beckham. He doesn't miss important things like a penalty! And Henry (26 years old) is currently a European champion and he was a world champion at the age of 20. Beckham has never won any continental or world cup and he is 28. He won the champion's league with Manchester United. Now he plays for Real of Madrid and Manchester United is still winning without him. Antoine (Landivisiau, Britanny, France) I don't think Beckham is a good player because he prefers money. To me, he is like Bill Gates, he isn't a real football player. Furthermore, he has never won an important competition like the World Cup, and if Manchester United has won the Champions league, it's not because Beckham was on the field. Indeed, Manchester won without him. Furthermore Beckham has missed the penalty of victory against Turkey. Before, I liked the English Team, but since Beckham arrived, England has lost because the English base their game on Beckham's foot. Real Madrid has made a big mistake buying him. The best player in the world, to me, is Thierry Henry, who was world champion when he was 19, and he will be England’s champion this year and he will be the best player of this championship. Beckham is money champion but he will never be world champion with the English team. Gamaliel (Landivisiau, Britanny, France) I think David Beckham is a good player but he is not a star like Thierry Henry because he makes more money with advertissements than in the game. He is not a star either because he has never won a world cup. I think the best players in the world are Ronaldo and Henry. But he is considered as a good player because he plays for Real Madrid, the best team in the world. Anthony (Landivisiau, Bretagne, France) I think David Beckham is a very good professionnal football player because he has a good technique but Zinedine Zidane is the best technical player in the world. They play in the same team, which is Real Madrid and in which good personalities like Ronaldo, Figo, Roberto Carlos are playing. Real Madrid is the best team in Europe before Arsenal, Milan AC and Bayern of Munich. David Beckham has a very important position in the national team of England. I also think that David Beckam is more interested in money than in the true game of football. Mateo (LAT, Blois) David Beckham is a very good player but his football level isn't equal to Zidane’s or Henry’s. His influence on the game of a team is less important than the influence of Zidane. I think the Real Madrid president, Florentino Pérez, bought Beckham to have a better marketing image for the Real , with more stars. Why did they let Claude Makélélé leave ? So is he a very good element for the Real ? He isn't a star. Pérez prefers to pay a star like Beckham rather than a very very good player like Makélélé. To me, Beckham was bought for financial reasons, not for sport reasons. Tonio (LAT, Blois) David Beckham is a very good player,he 's an indispensable element for the group.He has a good technique to play on the field. But I agree that he is more interested in money than the other players. For me, the best players of the planet are Roberto Carlos and Zinedine Zidane.They play in the same team, the Real Madrid, and with good personnalities like Ronaldo, Raoul, Beckham, Figo, I feel that the Real Madrid is the best team in the world before Arsenal, Juventus, Bayern, after the arrival of Beckham in the club.
