Damien Saez was born on the first of August, 1977, in Marseille, but he spent his childhood in Dijon. When he was 8, Damien went to the piano academy. He graduated 9 years later. From that time, he began to take an interest in the guitar. Damien started his career as a singer in 1995. At the age of 16, he was fond of writing. After a meeting with William Sheller, Saez approached the label Island (Bob Marley). After a long month of work, he published the album " Jours Etranges ", with the song " Jeune et Con ".

His second album, a double album called " God Bless ", appeared in 2002. Damien didn't hesitate to criticize the U.S. in this album. Saez is a troublemaker, in his text and in his interpretation. The song Sexe, from God Bless, made a lot of noise, to such an extent that the clip was censored. The internet was a great means to diffuse it. Saez is also committed. On the 22nd of April, 2002, the next day after the first turn of the Presidential election in France, he published on the web the song " Fils De France ", in which he denounced the lack of implication of young people in political life. He talked about "20% for horror, 20% for fear" obtained by the candidate Le Pen. He is a complete artist, as a matter of fact. A rock singer at the origin (" Jeune et con ", " Sauver cette étoiles, " Jours estranges "), he handles soft and poetic songs perfectly (" Petit prince, ", " So gorgeous ", " J'veux qu'on baise sur ma tombe ") and the piano solo (theme I, theme II). His new album, Debbie, released on the 31st of August 2004, is the third album by Damien Saez.

If you wish to react to this article, write to the editor. Jan 1, 2005 I'm fond of Damien SAEZ from the beginning. I found the article interesting, but you do not precise that at the beginning "Fils de France" was considered as a commercial project by some journalits. In fact, the song was free to download, without any gain of money! I think that he is a great artist. I like his texts,
with simple words, that are so well arranged they become full of
feelings. And he is also a really good musician (he learned the guitar
by himself). Flore (YGTP)
