EXCHANGE BLOIS - SILVOLDE

Project and presentations

Last year, we had to join in the internationalisation. Our class was going to exchange with France, a partner school in Blois. The first week was in October and we went to Blois. The second week was in April and the French students came to Holland. It was a very nice project, we made a lot of friends.

During the week we had to prepare for the main subject: the presentations. In France we prepared on Thursday from two to six o’clock. That was enough time I thought. It was not too long and not too short. It was very nice and we had a lot of fun. Then, at six o’clock the presentations started. It was nice, but a little bit boring, because there were some presentations about the same subject.

At eight o’clock we had dinner at school. It was in the form of a buffet, which was prepared by the parents of the French students. That was very nice, but there wasn’t much food, so I still was hungry when we left school.

In Holland we prepared our presentations on Tuesday and Thursday. That was a lot of time, I think. I think it was too much, because we worked hard on Tuesday, so we didn’t have to do anything on Thursday. I think that was a negative point of the presentations in Holland, but there were more positive points in Holland. We had a central subject: music. That was very nice. Some presentations were about the differences between France, Germany and Holland. Also, there were a lot of possible choices in different subjects like culture, top 40 on the TV, songs for children and more. In this way there weren’t many similar subjects for the presentations.

In Holland there was still another negative point, I think. The project was the main subject of the whole week. I think that isn’t good, because it’s more important that people have a nice week. I personally think that the stress must not be on the presentations, but on the fun and the contacts with the French students!
