" George Sand " is Aurore Dupin’s
pseudonym. In her novels, she defends her idea about women’s rights and matters of her society. Equality between men and women is very important for her and she claims women’s right to vote. |
She was a Republican. That’s why she dreamed of a republic based on equality, non-violence, free-thought, and against injustice, poverty, death sentence and prison. She started a newspaper called " L’éclaireur de l’Indre ", and she was a politician. George Sand was a great French novelist and a great feminist who died in 1876.

If you wish to react to this article, write to the editor. Jan 1, 2005 I think she was a fabulous woman. Her novels are really interesting to read. But I think that she had too many ideas that couldn't become true. She was dreaming too much ...! Flore (YGTP)
