Happy Tree Friends ...

Cartoons are no longer as nice as they used to be ... This is the end of the nice birds, soft mice and gentle stories ... This is the beginning of the Happy Tree Friends era. These pseudo-cute animals for young children's cartoons are in fact the most disgusting characters on TV. The episodes are a show of blood and jagged bodies.

These characters were designed by Rhode when he drew a cute yellow rabbit one day, just for fun. He wrote "resistence is futile" under the picture ... and this idea became Happy Tree Friends afterwards. He's a comic book writer: Pablo's Inferno.

Rhode is helped by Kenn, who has already worked for a long time for Mondo, the firm that produced Happy Tree Friends. Kenn is glad to help Rhode to draw this cartoon, because thanks to that he can make the cartoons he wanted to see during his childhood (what kind of childhood did he have? probably not one spent in front of Walt Disney's films ...)

At the end of 2004, 50 episodes were already on line! A new episode is released every month, and it takes 3 weeks to make one. You can download them on http://happytreefriends.atomsfilms.com (it's free). And you can buy the DVD’s on line too (especially if you want to watch the oldest cartoons).

The cartoon isn't recommended for young children. It's true that it's really bloody, but the way used for the scenes in which the characters are destroyed isn't the one you imagine, even if the end is as you thought it would be finished. I find it really funny, but you can find it shocking (and your little brothers or sisters too). It's really surprising to see such a sweet character as a rabbit, as you find in every book of your chilhood, being jagged...

Your article is very interesting because in Germany many people watch Happy Tree Friends. I also watch it and I think it´s very funny. If you see the rabbits when they were killed it´s always funny.

Your article is very interesting because you wrote about the history of the origin of the Happy Tree Friends. And it was also very good to get to know how long it takes to make one movie. We read your article because the serial is very funny.
