Why play an instrument

baritone

When you hear the word instrument you will think of a guitar or percussion instruments. I got an e-bass from my uncle, but I don´t like it very much.
There are lots of other instruments, for example the wind instruments. I have been studying baritone for five years. A baritone is a big horn with four valves. When you play in an orchestra, it is much fun. I´ve been playing in three orchestras for two years and I never regretted it. In the smallest one I think I´m the best player. I`ve passed the first test of the orchestra very well.

Also I attended a course with the best euphonium player of the world, STEVEN MEAD. A friend and I were driven by his father to Münster to study with him.

Later we heard a concert with the second best orchestra and with him as the soloist. It was the best concert I`ve ever heard.

The best orchestra I am playing in is the Märkisches Kreisjugendorchester (KJO). In the KJO we are 71 boys and girls. An orchestra with just 20 people hasn´t the same sound as this orchestra. In general it is better to have too many people than only a few.

All in all you can´t do anything wrong if you can play an instrument. I want to finish this text with the motto of the KJO:

Musik macht Freu(n)de

(music makes friends/music is fun)
