His real name is James Blount. He was born on 22nd February 1977 in Tidworth (England), in a British military family where music is considered useless! After his adolescence, he studied sociology and aerospace. Then he entered the British army, for four years, where he became a captain. He took part in the UN peace assignment in Kosovo. 

And during his free time, he had fun strolling about in the villages, dressed in East-German uniform, singing “Give peace a chance” of John Lennon. He also played the guitar to boost the morale of the troops. It was in that period that he became aware of his musical interest. 

So he left the army in 2002, and he decided to try his luck in the music world. In 2003 he took part in the famous South by musical meeting, organized in Texas, which attracted his attention. There, he met Linda Perry who introduced him to the producer Tom Rothrock. From this collaboration was born, two years later, in 2005: “You are beautiful”, which became very appreciated. His single has already sold 1.5 million copies. His success continues with his first album “Back to Bedlam”. Since this album, James Blunt has become very famous and popular. Moreover, he releases a lot of new musics and his new single: “Good bye my lover” is a success!

I discovered this singer only when he released "Good bye my lover" and I loved this song as soon as I heard it!!!It was the first sight!!(I pumped it up of course!!)....
So, what a pity you didn't put an extract of this song to make it known to the people who don't know this singer or his song.

I think James Blunt has a very specific voice that creates his own kind of music and that's why people like him. I didn't know about his past, but the little "biography" you write is interesting. It's good for us to discover about the fact that he was in a military world before becoming a famous singer. Anyway, he's a really talented singer and musician, even if some of his music can be more worked.

I like this artist because he has a very special voice and a different kind of music. He writes emotive songs which touch people with simplicity and sad things. I love his first album. He's a good artist who has a promising future.
