Chester Bennington (called Chazy Chaz) , Mike Shinoda ( called Spike Minoda) , Brad Delson ( called Big Bad Brad or BBB) , David Farrell ( called Phoenix) , Rob Bourdon ( called Bourdie) and Joseph Hahn ( called Mr. Hahn) are "Linkin Park". The group was founded in 1996, when Mike, Brad, David, Rob and Joseph were looking for a new shouter for their band "Xero" and found Chester. From this point they called their band "Hybrid Theory " which should also become their first album’s title three years later. But they changed their name for a second time into their final name "Linkin Park" because there was another band by the name of "Hybrid Theory". Their first song "One Step Closer" was played four weeks before it officially got released on every radio station as a Heavy Rotation Song. And in fact of that the album "Hybrid Theory" made it until the top 20 of the Billboard Charts and three weeks later the album got gold. On the following tour with their idols "The Deftones" they played in front of a huge crowd of thousands of people. In summer 2001 "Crawling" got until the 14.th place so they decided to go on their first European Headliner Tour. A short time after that tour they published their second album-"Reanimation", a remix album, but it isn’t approximate as good as Hybrid Theory.

In March 2003 they recorded their last studio solo album "Meteora" for the time being, and it was their biggest success. It was on place 1 of the Billboard Charts. After that album "Linkin Park" was ready to play on the really big concerts in the world. But Chester got ill and so they had to cancel big events like "Rock Am Ring" or "Rock Im Park". But after an operation he could sing again and so they went on tour with "Metallica" and "The Deftones" and filmed it. This was published in November 2003 as "Live in Texas".

In 2004 they recorded an album with Hip Hop legend "Jay-Z". "Collision Course" consists of 6 tracks and got until place 5.

Their latest album should get published in 2006.
