J .K. Rowling was born in 1967 in Wales. Her real name is Joann Kathleen Rowling.. She's got a little sister, two years younger, whose name is D.I Rowling. She began to write when she was 5 years old. It was an
adventure with rabbits. At school she was a very good pupil but she didn't
like sport. She went to Paris for her studies and she got a diploma in
French and foreign languages. To begin she wrote thrillers for adults but
it didn't come on the market. Then it was in 1990 that Harry Potter and
his wizard's school came to her mind while she was waiting for the train.
It was only 3 years later that she began to write these adventures. |
Her manuscript was refused several times, but one
day it was noticed by Bloomsbury. Then it was sold in an auction sale in
the United States. J.K. Rowling still lives in Edimburgh with her daughter,
her young son and her husband. She's expecting her third child for 2005 and she keeps writing her sixth book.
