If you have been to the USA or the UK, I’m sure you know what Starbucks is.

In fact, today Starbucks is a large multinational company like Mac Donald. Starbucks has outlets in 30 countries. The success is interesting because in European countries people think that American coffee is bad.

Why is Starbucks a success ?

I think Starbucks is a success because in a Starbucks coffee the atmosphere is different compared with a simple coffee shop. There are sofas and comfy chairs. Smoking isn’t allowed. And you have a choice of large complicated drinks, sometimes frozen and with Italian-sounding names (Frappucciano, Chantico) . You also have the choice of the size of your drink and the type of milk.

The only drawback is that the prices are high.(approximately 4 $ for an average drink).

In many US televised series, you can see the Starbucks circular green logo with a siren that is printed on the coffee cups.

When a Starbucks coffee shop opens in a city, many often independent coffee shops go bankrupt due to its success.

Dear Geoffrey,
I think your article is very interesting. In my opinion Starbucks is a really good coffee shop. I know a Starbucks coffee shop in Düsseldorf. Going in this shop is very much fun and the atmosphere is really nice. My favourite drink is also the Frappucciano.

Dear Geoffrey,
After reading your article, I wanted to drink a Frappucciano. I really like your text and I am a starbucks fan too. Your arguments are very well and the pictures are very nice. I agree with you that it is very expensive. But I can understand it, because you get a lot of coffee. I really like these shops because of the couches. So all in all Starbucks is the best cafe in the world.
Yours,

Dominique (Neuenrade, Germany)
